Sweet Indulgence at House of Anvers!

September 28, 20242 min read

Hi Everyone! 🌞

Life in Tasmania has been an incredible journey so far. After leaving my city job and moving here, I’m living in a caravan while designing my dream tiny home. 🌿🚐 My aim is to live as sustainably as possible, with veggie gardens, solar power, and all the joys of off-grid living. But even in this quest for sustainability, I can’t resist a little indulgence now and then!

I spent the afternoon indulging my sweet tooth at the House of Anvers in Devonport — honestly, I’m in chocolate heaven! 😍 This place is a must-visit for any chocolate lover. From the moment you step inside, it’s like entering a magical world where chocolate reigns supreme. The aromas wafting through the air are enough to transport you into a blissful state!

Nestled in a gorgeous old bungalow surrounded by stunning gardens, the Anvers Chocolate Factory is not just about the chocolates (though, they’re absolutely divine); it’s a full sensory experience. The café serves up traditional Belgian-style breakfasts and lunches, but of course, I had to dive right into the chocolate-inspired treats. The hot chocolate? Simply to die for! It’s rich, creamy, and utterly satisfying — definitely a hug in a mug! And don’t even get me started on the handmade truffles — each one is a little piece of luxury that melts in your mouth.

What I loved most was the chance to explore the chocolate museum and see how their chocolate is made. It’s incredible to learn about the meticulous process behind each delectable bite, all crafted using the finest Tasmanian ingredients. They really take pride in blending traditional techniques with local flavours, which makes every chocolate piece feel special.

If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss it! You can even pick up some goodies to take home from their shop, or order online if you’re too far away. Trust me, you’ll want to treat yourself! 🌱🍫
